Below is some footage of the Fugees in their prime performing a freestyle version of the track “How many mic’s” from the LP “The Score”. The footage is from the TV show Live at the Apollo and was filmed in 1996.
This particular performance is one that captures the groups hip hop routes and together with their larger clique deliver an outstanding off the cuff live performance. Lauren Hill‘s freestyle skills are particularly on point. Wycleff and Pras actually pass there mic’s over to the other crew members as they walk on to the stage just like in an open mic session. The Fugees were a fantastic unit who recorded 2 full length LPs and a handful of singles and EPs. All members went on to pursue successful careers as solo artists.
